BedBugs On animals??

I am curious as to, if bedbugs infest animals as they do the homes of humans?? And if they do, what animals would they infest?? I have two hamsters, have not had bedbugs in my home, but afraid my hammies will attract them?? just dont need my home full of blood sucking critters…

I believe bedbugs are a human-specific parasite, but I could be wrong.

you would be horrified then to know your home andyour body and your hammies are covered in minute flesh eating micro organisms,its all a part of nature,every mattress in the land has bed bugs they eat your dead skin cells every night and day

Bedbugs travel easily and quickly along pipes and boards, and their bodies are very flat, which allows them to hide in tiny crevices. In the daytime, they tend to stay out of the light, preferring to remain hidden in such places as mattress seams, mattress interiors, bed frames, nearby furniture, carpeting, baseboards, inner walls, tiny wood holes, or bedroom clutter. Bedbugs can be found on their own, but more often congregate in groups. Bedbugs are capable of travelling as far as 100 feet to feed, but usually remain close to the host in bedrooms or on sofas where people may sleep. Doesn’t mention animals…
