When we got bedbugs. We replaced all the mattresses and got rid of all the carpeting. We inspected our furniture several times but never You have to check EVERYWHERE. Baseboards, bedside tables, behind picture frames, Inside electronics that are next to the bed(alarm clock, phone, radio, etc…) Bedbugs are attracted to your body heat and the carbon dioxide you breath out while asleep. So they will be found mainly in bedrooms but can get into other parts of the house. All in all I think it took us about 2 months till we did not see any more. We did have a pest control company come in a spray and fog, that killed a lot of them. But even after they came we still had live ones. I fully suggest getting new mattresses and keeping the plastic wrapping on them until you are sure you have gotten rid of them.

It is usually several weeks after treatment before they are completely eliminated. You do not have to discard the mattress and box spring. You can save a lot of money by encasing them. Bedbug proof encasements will trap existing Bedbugs and prevent new ones from living on the mattress and box spring. Leave the encasements on for 14-18 months.
