Is anyone else scared of getting bed bugs?

Question by MorningGlory:
Is anyone else scared of getting bed bugs?

I don’t buy used clothing or furniture, or live in an apartment, but I am terrified that I will pick them up somewhere…a movie theatre, taxi, hotel, workplace, public transportation…etc.

I am very worried that someone in my family will pick them up while traveling (my sister travels A LOT) and bring them into our home. I am flying out of town in a couple months to visit family and am scared of picking them up in an airplane.

Does anyone else have these concerns? What do you do to remedy the situation?

chances are you won’t get them.

yeah they may be around places you go or your sister goes, but the likelihood of them getting on your clothes and staying on your clothes the whole time you are away from home and then jumping off when you get home is unlikely.

and if you do get them, you can always just get an exterminator to take care of them right away.

yes it most likely to much traveling they can come home with you, you just have to double check your stuff before you leave any place. Make sure suit case stay off the floor and keep close. also if your really paranoid put your clothes in the freezer for two nights they will be dead cause they hate below 0 and hate too much heat. i personally had this happen to me and pesticide isn’t what you want especially if you have kids you will want to freeze them or heat which an exterminator will do if you request. I live in a house and kept it spotless but a professional told me the bugs prefer a clean house easy to move around in to get to you. Oh and they HATE POWDER you can use baby powder around your bed they will be irritated by the powder and won’t bother trying to climb up with powder around if you have rugs you will want to use a steamer really hot and before you leave travel place put your clothes you wore in a plastic bag until you get home and dump them asap into your washer machine in hot water and dry in hot air this will get rid of their eggs if the adults didn’t come home with you ur still like shaky about thing then do this if it does occur then maybe you won’t bring them a guess will sorry to scare you but they is no preventing them but knowing what to do before infestation occurs then you’ll sleep better at night

I think you are overreacting.

I understand that bed bugs are a big pain but you can take care of them easily.

“Usually, exterminators will use a combination of pesticides and steam heat – bed bugs only die from heat of the temperature is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit that’s sustained for several hours”

You can understand more about how to get rid of bed bugs by visiting this article :

There is also a bed bugs bible which will teach you to get rid of these bugs yourself :

Take care 🙂
