If that’s one of the 7 plagues, then the god in question is kind of pathetic.
God really turned into a bit of a pansy sometime between Ancient Egypt and now.

If it’s in the top seven, we’re doing pretty well, considering the way in which smallpox, cholera, polio, bubonic plague, influenza, and other diseases afflicted past generations.
Bedbug populations and propogations are on 22 year cycles same as the Sun. So the extent of the problem drops to a low and then 11 years later to a high. How well the populations are handled depends on the degree of ignorance of the human populations. We are two years away from a solar high, and therefore two years away from a bedbug high. Been like this for millions of years.
