what are other names for bedbugs and also can they make your leg swollen and infected?

Vampire bug, kissing bug. If you are very allergic that could happen. If you have pets it could be fleas and ticks. I had a nasty infection from a mosquito bite. Go see the doctor before it gets worse.

Bedbugs are also known as ‘kissing bugs’ or Reduviid bugs (from the family name). They can transmit trypanosomiasis, also known as Chagas’ disease. It is caused by Trypanosoma cruzi, a protozoan.
Infection can cause swollen lymph nodes, enlarged liver and spleen, and even heart disease. It is present, although rare, in the United States. We learned about it in vet tech school because dogs can be carriers of this disease, and can develop it themselves.
Get yourself to a doctor ASAP–even if it’s not Chagas’ disease, of course you need to get it checked out. Good luck.
