It may stop them from biting but it does not get rid of the problem. They will continue to breed. They can live in clothes, purses, carpet, curtains. Many other things besides an actual bed.

There are “bed bugs” which are really just dust mites which are microscopic, and feed off the dead skin cells that fall into our bedding, they are completely harmless (unless you have an allergy in which case purchase allergy prevention cases for pillows etc) and they can be prevented by vacuuming the mattress and regularly washing all of your bedding, and allowing them to dry in the sun.

Then there are Bed Bugs, which you can see, and which do actually bite, they are usually brought on by an unhygienic environment and you need to call an exterminator to get rid of this problem as they don’t just live in the bed, but in carpets too and are very difficult to get rid of.
