Getting rid of bed bugs?

Question by Bri:
Getting rid of bed bugs?

I just woke up with little bugs crawling on me. I used What’sThatBug.com to identify them as bed bugs. I am terrified of little bugs that I can’t see at all times, such as bed bugs. I am fine with larger bugs and animals, large spiders, mice, etc. but I aboslutely hate bugs like these.

Could I hire a professional to kill them for me? How much would it cost?

I remember my brother brought lice home and my mom freaked and cleaned EVERYTHING. It sounds like such a pain. Good luck!

just chill for now. go take a shower and crawl into a chair in another room or something. in the morning call a pro. wash the bedding and toss the mattress out…maybe they, (pro exterminators), can fumigate the mattress, but i’d toss it out. little bugs freak me out too! dangit, those things, (fleas, bed buggs, lice, paracites in general), freak me out! GL with it. call an exterminator at first light!!!!

Get a desk lamp and a large shallow bowl of water with 2 drops of dish soap in it. Put it in the floor and shine the lamp over it for a few days(use the new squiggly bulbs) if you see little bugs then it is working and you don’t need poison in your house, You could vacuum your bed and carpets more, rent a good carpet cleaner and put some flea soap(just alittle) in with the carpet cleaner shampoo. and spray your yard down with the rest of the flea shampoo, this should chase the bugs to the neighbors yard, lol!

Now that you have identified them, you can figure out how to treat them. A good PCO will need to be involved and you should also consider a non-chemical response in case the strain you have are chemical resistent.

Many people use Kleen-Free enzymes as their at home non-chemical spray since it causes the bedbugs to shed its skin prematurely and from that it dries out and dies. You buy it online at http://www.kleen-free.com. It is a contact spray only so you need to spray it everywhee they could be hiding (baseboards, end tables etc) and even then I woudl use it in conjunction with a PCO since you may never hit all of the bugs but it is something you can safely do even with kids, pets etc. around.

Good luck. Bedbugs are difficult ot ge rid of but it can be done. The PCO is going to be expensive so maybe you can defray some of the cost by doing some parts yourself.
