Disposable mattress bed bug bags (covers) can cost anywhere from $ 30 to $ 60 each here in Canada (just for a Twin bed). Any alternatives? I’m in an apartment building.

homeless people don’t mind bed bugs one bit.

When I was a kid people who had bed bugs burned their mattresses.
Today it is frowned upon but once it is ablaze who is to say why it was torched. Toss it out the window and have a bonfire to celebrate Guy Faawkes day.

well you can wear protective clothes ands gloves and apartment buildings usually have stairways so use those have a friend help you
and most apartment buildings have huge Dumpsters so dispose of it there or use a dumpster that is in walking distance because i don’t recommend putting that bed in your car
