How do you get rid of bed bugs?

Question by :
How do you get rid of bed bugs?

We have had an exterminator at our house 3 times now and I am still being bit. My mother-in-law is convinced that they are only upstairs because the exterminator told her that they wouldn’t travel down stairs. Most of the time my welts appear when I’m sitting on furniture in the living room. How do you get rid of them? Obviously, extermination is not the answer. I’m about ready to buy some boric acid and put around my self in the bed. Please help!

i don’t think that you can completely get rid of them. a lady i know had the same problem and she just got rid of the contaminated furniture. good luck!

You need to Steam Clean the Furniture Pillows and carpet thoroughly
wash your betting well with Lemon Ammonia then bag it and freeze it (sounds strange but it kills eggs)
You will have to do this every month for the next 4-6 months if you have a severe infestation then every 3-6 mo so they don’t get bad again

Andrea,

Clearly whatever chemcials your exterminator is using is not working on the bedbugs – and they can climb stiars etc so I think you have a loser exterminator coming in to treat your place.

There are some good chemical free sprays on the marekt that will kill the bugs on contact and also will disintegrate the eggs as well.

The one that I have used that worked is called BedBug Terminator and it is made by a company called Kleen-Free. Chemical free so we used it with our pets and kids still in the house.

Maybe check it out and see if it could be part of yoru solution.

Good luck..they are tough to get rid of but it can happen.
